Is CLAA an online program or homeschool program? How does it work?

The Classical Liberal Arts Academy (CLAA) is both an online program AND a homeschool support system. It provides accredited online courses that homeschool families use to create a complete classical Catholic education at home.

How CLAA Works

CLAA operates as a self-paced online learning platform that supports homeschool families. When you enroll your daughter, you become the legal administrator of her homeschool while CLAA provides the curriculum, courses, and academic structure.

Before you begin

  • Understand that parents retain full authority as homeschool administrators
  • CLAA provides the curriculum and support, but you guide your child’s education
  • All courses are self-paced with no fixed deadlines or grade-level restrictions

How the program works step-by-step

  1. Choose an enrollment option – either individual courses or a subscription plan that provides access to all courses
  2. Request a Study Center account for your daughter through https://classicalliberalarts.com/study
  3. Log into the Study Center and request enrollment in specific courses based on your daughter’s needs and grade level
  4. Begin studies immediately once course access is approved
  5. Work through lessons at your daughter’s own pace using online study materials, quizzes, and assignments
  6. Receive graded assessments, progress reports, and academic records through the CLAA system
  7. Continue year-round or follow your preferred schedule – there are no artificial deadlines

What makes CLAA different from traditional online schools

CLAA is not a virtual public school or online charter school. Instead, it provides:

  • Self-paced learning with no fixed schedules or deadlines
  • Classical Catholic curriculum covering both traditional liberal arts and modern subjects
  • Full accreditation by Cognia (the same agency that accredits public and private schools)
  • Parent-directed education where you maintain control over your child’s learning
  • Courses for all ages, from elementary through adult studies
  • Year-round access to materials and support

Course offerings include

  • Classical Liberal Arts (Grammar, Logic, Rhetoric, Arithmetic, Geometry, Music, Astronomy)
  • Philosophy and Catholic Theology
  • English Language Arts and Literature
  • Modern Mathematics and Sciences
  • Foreign Languages (Latin, Greek)
  • Humanities and Social Studies

Important notes

Note: CLAA is fully accredited by Cognia, ensuring college acceptance and academic credibility.

Tip: Students can advance quickly through subjects they grasp easily or spend extra time mastering challenging concepts without pressure.

Important: Parents remain the legal administrators of their homeschool and have full authority over schedules, standards, and graduation requirements.
