Below is a copy of a translation of the Jesuit Ratio Studiorum (Rule of Studies), originally published in 1599. The Ratio preserves for us the educational convictions and mission of the original Jesuit founders, who included St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, St. Peter Faber and others, and of the train of Jesuit saints who studied and taught this same curriculum for more than a century in modern Europe.
