In 2024-2025, the Classical Liberal Arts Academy will be offering a very simple and easy-to-use grade level program to serve our goal of making the satisfaction of modern school requirements as convenient as possible.
It is not our goal to simply to offer a program that makes grade level studies convenient, but to free students to pursue classical Catholic studies with the time that is made available by such a program.
Notes
- Each grade level course will be divided into 120 hours of instruction/study.
- Courses will be intended for study from September through June, but students may work at their own pace.
- Each grade level course will follow a very simple grading plan: Assignments: 25% Quizzes: 25% Tests: 25% Exams: 25%
- Assignments will be require for every hour, which will double as proof of attendance.
- Each hour will include an assignment to measure participation and regular progress.
- Quizzes will be included as needed throughout the course, based on lesson content.
- Six Tests will assess knowledge of multiple lessons.
- Two exams will assess mid-year and end-of-year progress.
- Courses should (if possible) work through two separate studies in alternating meetings so that there is time for students to continue working over multiple days to completion.
- Grade 09 will be opening in September 2024 with lesson content being posted weekly. The scope and sequence will be established by the actual movement through course material over the course of the year.
- The completion of study materials is not always possible. This shows us that what is most important is teaching students how to study these materials and enabling them to continue and complete them if desired, possibly as an “honors” track.
