With the advent of search engines and artificial intelligence, encyclopedic learning is clearly not the aim of education. In the Classical Liberal Arts Academy, we assess lesson content through objective quizzes. On written assignments, we work to help students improve their writing skills.
All assignments submitted for grading in the Classical Liberal Arts Academy are evaluated with the following criteria:
- Numbered assignment questions are provided.
- All questions in the assignment are answered.
- Answers are written in complete sentences.
- Outlines are provided with clear, consistent formatting.
- Words are capitalized correctly.
- Words are spelled correctly.
- Punctuation is used correctly.
- Evidence is provided to support assignment answers.
- Nothing false is written in the assignment.
- Answers are clear and easy to understand.
Students are provided with numerical grades and feedback on each of these criteria. Students are also provided with general feedback on how to improve their assignments and raise their scores. Students may revise and re-submit their assignments until an A grade is earned.
Extern students may not submit written assignments for grading; a Standard or Premium tuition subscription is required.
