Elementary Grammar, Lesson 14. Composition

To complete this lesson, complete the following exercises.  The answers to the questions in this and similar exercises, should first be given orally, and then written. The first answer should begin with the words, “I see”

Select other pictures, and ask questions concerning what is to be seen in them. Should a painting be used, call attention to the different colors; write their names, and compare them with similarly colored objects in the house or classroom—such as articles of dress, flowers, etc. This exercise may be used, with profit, at intervals during several years of school life; and it should not be dispensed with until pupils can use pictures, in composition work. without the assistance of a teacher. This is a great routine exercise for a student journal or blog.
