Jared Haselbarth –
This challenging course was foundational in the Catholic curriculum for all of history, but I never find it listed or taught from the original source texts (Aristotle) in any other program. I can’t even find college philosophy majors which study in depth each of the six books of Aristotle which make up Classical Reasoning. I am studying this course and have realized with each passing lesson how little we know of how to reason rightly. Many in the Church speak about the need for “Faith and Reason”, but the wrongly equate Modern Science with Reason. In the classical curriculum, Reason is not Modern Science, but Classical Reasoning, and requires the study of Aristotle’s works. This is a difficult, but necessary course for Catholic students.
