Ray’s Primary Arithmetic

In the Classical Liberal Arts Academy, we provide students with the opportunity to study the excellent Ray’s Arithmetic series, which was arranged and publish by Dr. Joseph Ray in the 1800s. Our online courses make the content of this series available for free to students, and offer online quizzes, graded assignments and support as well.

I. Primary Arithmetic

The first study in the series is Primary Arithmetic, which covers the basics of counting and arithmetic facts. This text is intended for students getting started in Arithmetic, ages 5 and above. This study is available in the Academy’s Modern Arithmetic I course.

II. Intellectual Arithmetic

The second study in the series is Intellectual Arithmetic. This text is intended for students ages 8 and above and is available in our Modern Arithmetic II course.

III. Practical Arithmetic

The third study in the series is Practical Arithmetic. This text is intended for students ages 10 and above and is available in our Modern Arithmetic III course.

The fifth study in the series is Elementary Algebra. This text is intended for students ages 12 and above and is available in our Algebra I course.

VI. Advanced Algebra

The sixth study in the series is Advanced Algebra. This text is intended for students ages 14 and above and is available in our Algebra II course.

The seventh study in the series is Geometry & Trigonometry. This text is intended for students ages 16 and above and is available in our Geometry & Trigonometry course.

IX. Analytical Geometry

The seventh study in the series is Ray’s Analytical Geometry. This text is intended for students ages 16 and above, who have finished Geometry & Trigonometry.
